Good afternoon, Everyone.
Weekends in the May home is never quiet. Seeing that its holiday-it's like one very long weekend! After we did our family devotions on Saturday, we played 30 seconds - we haven't done that in a while - was so hilarious seeing the girls acting out the words. Yes, my daughters exhaust me but we can surely learn from our children. There are many times when I ask God for something but then try and make a way of my own - just in case. WHAT AN AWFUL MINDSET!
I've once again come to realize that we need to be less and more like children. Now you're probably thinking, 'What a contradiction!'.
Childish VS Childlike
These two sound similar but have different meanings. Being childish means sulky, impatient, irritable, immaturity, obnoxiousness, selfishness, and so on. The latter, though, describes all the beautiful things about children – trust, joy, innocence, curiosity, wonder, forgiveness and so much more. We need child-like faith (Matthew 18:3).
Webster’s dictionary describes “childlike” as “becoming a child; meek; submissive; dutiful.” - Does this describe us?
We are to go before God stripped of our doubts, filled with inspiration and full of sincere faith. Do we truly believe God will always be there when we need Him? A child would say, "Yes!" without any hesitation. We are to expect awesome greatness every single time we approach Abba Father.
Faith build character and this process starts when we are but a child. According to Hebrews 11:6 we cannot please God without faith. As adults,we have allowed the cares of the world to distort our faith when it should increase it. John 1:12 says we have the right to be called God's children. The question is - do we have the faith to believe this? I think many of us need to repent and ask God for forgiveness for not fully trusting Him.
I have faith that whatever Daddy says about me is true and also choose not to believe what the enemy says regarding who I am.
May we be hidden in Christ - trusting that He always has our backs.
