Tears of Thankfulness

What a day this was! So a few months ago while my husband was away for a kickboxing tournament in Pretoria, Azariah, our 5 years year old spotted a spider in our kitchen. I quickly took a picture of it before killing it (God forgive me ha, ha) and uploaded it on social media to make sure whether it was dangerous or not. Well - it was a violin spider (https://witbanknews.co.za/56017/get-to-know-the-violin-spider/). I cringed when I saw what this creature's bite was capable of.
Lastnight, I saw something that looked like a spider walk next to our bed so naturally I moved everything to look for it but found nothing. I just brushed it off thinking it was just my imagination. When Hope and I woke up this morning, I called our eldest into our room so we could chat a bit. While Hope was lying next to me, the violin spider slowly walked over her. I immediately grabbed something and I killed the living daylights out of it!
I told Jasmine to quickly take Hope as I searched for any other 'threats'.
I almost immediately broke into tears! The thought of what could have happened almost got me in a panic but then the reason for my tears suddenly changed - They became tears of gratitude and thankfulness!
We praise God for protecting our baby Hope from harm. He is our Protector and Help even when we are unaware of the threats around us.
God fends for us and our families while we are asleep and He sustains us!
Here are a few prayer points when interceding for your children:
That they will trust Christ as their Savior. (See Psalm 63:1 and II Timothy 3:15.)
That they will have a hatred of sin. (See Psalm 97:10.)
That they will be caught when doing wrong. (See Psalm 119:71.)
That they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives: spiritual, emotional, and physical. (See John 17:15.)
That they will have a responsible attitude in all their interpersonal relationships. (See Daniel 6:3.)
That they will respect those in authority over them. (See Romans 13:1.)
That they will desire the right kind of friends and be protected from the wrong friends. (See Proverbs 1:10–11.)
That they will be kept from the wrong mate and be saved for the right one. (See I Corinthians 6:14–17.)
That they, as well as those they marry, will remain pure until marriage. (See I Corinthians 6:13–20.)
That they will be single-hearted, willing to be sold out to Jesus Christ. (See II Timothy 1:5–7, 3:14–17.)
That they will be hedged in so they cannot find their way to wrong influences, places, people, or friends, and that these temptations will not come against them. (See Hosea 2:6.)
That they will learn the great virtue of humility. (See James 4:6.)
