Entrusting our time

As the holiday draws to a close - I once again realize how time just keeps on moving. We are already halfway through the seventh month and so I look back on what God has done in 2018 thus far. I also feel something brewing in the spirit - like something huge is about to happen - something awesome. As a child of God, we should always be expectant that Daddy has something good in store for us even when things look bleek in the natural. We live by faith and not by sight afterall.

Time surely doesn't stand still for any of us - so why do we waste it so much? My father always said, "Don't waste your time, you will never get the time lost back again. Do something constructive". I teach this concept to my children too. Time is a gift. We ultimately choose how to use it wisely and effectively or waste it.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says for everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the sun. It speaks of various things that have a set time. The Word surely won't mention time for no reason so this got me thinking. Do we ask Holy Spirit for guidance in managing our time? Do we ask Him for divine strategy so our time can align with His will? Do we even give a tenth of our time to God per day?

Ultimately, Christ should be the centre of our our calendar. Instead of trying to fit Christ in our daily routines, He should be the place we live and move in always. Time set apart for God in the morning is extremely important as it sets the tone for the whole day. I declare and decree into my mornings to get a good start. This past week has been tiring but I refused to submit to my time of rest and feel it in my body. This evening I realise there's a time to rest physically and we should always rest in Christ as He works in and through us. God calls us to rest for an appointed time just like He calls us to do other things.

There was a time when I said yes to everyone asking for favours and I was always busy with things God didn't even tell me to do. I have learned to say no and not feel guilty about things God hasn't put His stamp of approval on. You see - the time we spend on doing what we think is right could be leading us away from where we should be. We could rather be using our time on what God wants us to do so we can can get the best out of this life that was given to us. God knows best concerning our lives - lets trust Him with our time too.
