My Rock

When your soul just feels all down

Praise the Lord

Count it all joy

No need to frown

When people neglect you

And don’t do you right

Lift Him up in praise

Don’t retaliate – no need to fight

His joy is my strength

His peace is not like the world’s

When I feel saddened

I am reminded by the Spirit

With His blood

I am branded

Like a pearl is formed

To protect the oyster

So my tests and trials

Will bring out beauty

And it won’t kill or defile

In You I have my being

I will have faith even without seeing

My Jesus, My Lord –

With You I will withstand every wave and knock

My First Love - My solid Rock
